Bug Witch Prints: Illustrating Nature’s Tiniest Details

My name is Em and I am a Twin Cities-based eco-artist. I create depictions of ecology, zoology, and conservation through scientific illustration, painting, printmaking, and digital collage. I am especially interested in highlighting the tiny things in nature that are often overlooked within my art. The small, intricate details of a caterpillar’s setae pattern, the fleeting sparkle of sunlight on water, and the bioluminescence of creatures deep beneath the sea, are all motifs in nature that strike my eye and I incorporate into my creations. The goal of spotlighting the small things in nature within my art is to invoke a sense of gratitude and stewardship for green spaces and the nature that lives alongside us and provides for us.
